Pundit: Maguire and Boateng keen to sign for Man United

Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng both want to sign for Manchester United before the transfer deadline, according to Sky Sports pundit Kaveh Solhekol.

Both centre-backs have been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with some reports claiming a £60million offer for Maguire has been turned down by the Foxes.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to strengthen his backline before the end of the window with Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld also rumoured to be a target.

And Solhekol took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm that Maguire and Boateng were still two potential options for the club.

“Told reports that Jerome Boateng turned down a move to Man United for football reasons are wide of the mark,” he tweeted.

“Boateng wants to move to United and Jose Mourinho wants to sign him. Maguire also still hoping United will sign him. One source says £60m bid already turned down.”

Reports emanating from Germany last night claimed that any deal for Boateng was off with the Germany international ready to stay at Bayern.

Mourinho has spoken in recent weeks that he hopes to sign two more players before the end of the window but it wouldn’t be a drama if they only signed one.
