Adrien Rabiot is set to meet with French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet but the PSG star’s international exile could continue.
The midfielder was asked to be on stand-by for the France squad prior to the World Cup but the invitation was refused.
Didier Deschamps labelled Rabiot’s decision “a massive mistake” with the France boss warning the 23-year-old that he had “automatically excluded himself” from national team consideration.
The France boss has eased his stance since the summer, with Deschamps not ruling out the prospect of a return for Rabiot.
The player is due to meet with Le Graet but the FFF chief insists that does not necessarily mean that a recall is imminent before the Iceland friendly next month.
“I’m going to meet him soon,” Le Graet told Ouest France. “He did something very silly.
“He won’t be punished forever, but it’s not certain that Didier takes him back immediately.”
