Ramsey contract talks ‘remain dead’ ahead of Arsenal exit

Arsenal are still committed to letting Aaron Ramsey leave the club at the end of the season and won’t be offering him a new deal, according to reports.

The Welshman grabbed two assists in the Gunners 4-2 victory over Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday, leading to questions that there could be a U-turn over his contract situation.

Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season after Arsenal had initially made it clear they would not be renewing his deal, which means he can talk to clubs abroad from January 1.

And now The Times claims that the Gunners stance has remain unchanged  with the club hoping that it will ‘free up resources for new signings’.

The report continues by saying Ramsey ‘has Juventus and Bayern Munich competing to offer him pre-contract agreements next month’.

Another man the club are willing to let go is Danny Welbeck, who will also reportedly be allowed to find a new club at the end of the current season.

Welbeck picked up a nasty injury in Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon last month with The Times saying the club are ‘sympathetic’ but don’t have any plans to offer him another deal at the Emirates Stadium.
