Rangnick promised £8m bonus if Man Utd secure £64m top target
Ralf Rangnick will receive a huge bonus if Man Utd sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Germany.
Rangnick, who has spent most of his managerial career based in Germany, has been appointed as interim boss at Old Trafford following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former RB Leipzig boss is still waiting for his work permit to be approved with caretaker manager Michael Carrick taking charge of their match against Arsenal tonight.

Rangnick will stay on in a consultancy role for a further two years with Man Utd looking to appoint a permanent successor to Solskjaer in the summer.
And German newspaper BILD claim that the 63-year-old will receive an £8m bonus if he helps the Red Devils sign Dortmund superstar Haaland in the summer.
Haaland’s release clause – believed to be around £64m – will become active in the summer and Man Utd are hoping Rangnick’s contacts can convince Haaland to move to Old Trafford.
Dortmund are hoping to renegotiate terms with the Norwegian, while numerous other huge clubs from around Europe are unsurprisingly interested in his signature.
The Dortmund striker has scored 71 goals in 70 matches in all competitions for the German outfit.
On Rangnick coming in as United’s new interim boss, Man Utd football director John Murtough said: “Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football.
“He was our number one candidate for interim manager, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from almost four decades of experience in management and coaching.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him during the season ahead, and then for a further two years in his advisory role.”
On joining Man Utd, Rangnick said earlier this week: “I am excited to be joining Manchester United and focused on making this a successful season for the club.
“The squad is full of talent and has a great balance of youth and experience. All my efforts for the next six months will be on helping these players fulfil their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team.
“Beyond that, I look forward to supporting the club’s longer-term goals on a consultancy basis.”
