Real Madrid have made Manchester United’s Paul Pogba their top target as they end their pursuit of Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
There has been intense speculation about the 26-year-old’s Old Trafford happiness and last weekend he admitted he was considering “a new challenge somewhere else”.
Real Madrid have a long-standing interest in Pogba and Juventus are interested in bringing back the France midfielder, three years after selling him to United for a then world-record fee of £89million.
The Daily Star reported on Friday that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready ‘to sell the unsettled star to the highest bidder’ and is ‘desperate to sell Pogba to raise funds for new signings’.
With Madrid already spending a lot of money this summer on the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy, they will ‘bide their time in pursuit of’ Pogba.
Goal adds: ‘Madrid are now set to focus their attention on sales before stepping up their bid to bring Pogba to the Bernabeu.’
