Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out a return to the Bernabeu for axed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager was sacked at Stamford Bridge just months after winning the Premier League trophy in May and is now free to talk to other clubs.

Mourinho, who left the Blues just a point above the Premier League trap door, spent three years in charge at Madrid where he won La Liga and a Copa del Rey title.

It wasn’t even 24 hours after ‘The Special One’ left Chelsea before the Real return rumours started.

Perez was speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser when asked about Mourinho: “Nobody can predict the future but right now he is not going to come to Madrid.”

“Benitez is capable of solving the problems we have,” said Perez. “That’s the only option we’re considering.

“We have very good memories of Mourinho, he raised our competitive level (when he was manager).”
