Redknapp questions Everton, ‘surprised’ at transfer call

Harry Redknapp has questioned why Everton have let Ademola Lookman join RB Leipzig on loan.

Lookman secured a deadline day loan departure for the Bundesliga after featuring scarcely under Sam Allardyce.

The manager explained that the winger pushed to join Leipzig on loan instead of staying in England, describing it as “one of the most unusual situations I’ve been in”.

But Redknapp has questioned why Allardyce has decided to let him go in the first place.

“I think he’s an excellent player,” Redknapp told BT Sport. “I’ve seen Everton play and I don’t know how he can’t get into their team.

“He looks to me like, given the opportunity, he’s a real good player. I’m surprised they’ve let him go.”
