Juventus have revealed they rejected a summer bid from Liverpool for Claudio Marchisio, who ‘does not care’ about the rumours.

Marchisio has been linked with a move to Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp reportedly identified him as one of his main targets.

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder, but revealed that it dates back to the summer under Brendan Rodgers, where the Italian side rejected an offer for their star.

“We always receive a lot of offers for our player, but we are a club that want to buy players rather than selling,” Marotta told Premium Sport.

“Marchisio has just extended his contract and I believe he wants to finish his career with us. By the way, Liverpool were not the only side that made an offer for him.”

Marchisio himself has addressed the rumours, telling Sport Mediaset: “Klopp is crazy about me and wants me at Liverpool? I do not care, I just signed a contract with Juventus.”
