West Ham’s teenage defender Reece Oxford is on the verge of sealing a one-year loan deal with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Oxford made his Premier League debut at the age of just 16 and was incredible against Arsenal in August 2015, but he has since been barely used by Hammers manager Slaven Bilic.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading but started only two Championship games.

Borussia Monchengladbach have lost Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen after his two-year loan at the German club.

Oxford featured in our list of best Premier League players eligible for England Under-21 duty, though he was not picked for either the U-20 World Cup or this summer’s Under-21 European Championship.
