Liverpool midfielder Emre Can will open talks with Serie A side Juventus in January, according to reports in Italy.

The Germany international has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Premier League club and speculation is growing that he could leave for nothing in the summer.

He has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal and the Reds will be powerless to stop him from discussing pre-contract terms with other clubs in January.

Corriere dello Sport claims that Can will sign a pre-contract agreement with Italian champions Juventus in January.

While Tuttosport have quotes from Beppe Marotta, who is Juve’s general manager, saying: “We have already said several times we intend to start formal negotiations with the Germany international in January.”

Can is a regular in the Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp and the Reds are expected to hang onto the German for as long as they can even if that means losing him for nothing in the summer.
