Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho won’t be returning to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The England international joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window for £73m after a long pursuit over a few transfer windows.
His move back to England has not been the success many expected so far with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only giving him three Premier League starts this term.
Sancho has yet to contribute a goal or an assist in 13 appearances in all competitions with Man Utd having a poor start to the season under Solskjaer.
That is in stark contrast to his career at Dortmund, where he scored 37 Bundesliga goals and provided 41 assists for his team-mates over the last three seasons.
With Dortmund on the lookout for a winger in the January transfer market, speculation among supporters has increased that Sancho could return in the winter window.
But German publication Bild claims that despite the possible transfer being discussed ‘more and more’ between Dortmund fans, neither Man Utd or Sancho are open to any kind of deal in January.
An illness when he first started out at Man Utd in the summer has also recently been cited as a contributing factor to his poor start at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, World Cup winner Lothar Matthaus said earlier this month that Sancho made a “mistake” joining the Premier League side in the summer.
Matthaus told Sky Sports: “You see the players who are playing in Man United. You have Rashford, you have Ronaldo… this means you have two from three and then you have another four players who can play in the third position and one of these three or four players is Sancho.
“I don’t know how he is training at Man United. He has to work very hard to make this step in the first eleven. Now he’s far away from the first 11.
“When I see how many minutes he was playing this season or which games he was playing. Then I think it was a mistake. Maybe he has more money but he has less games.”
