Frank Lampard will have £150million to spend in the January transfer window as he looks to improve his Chelsea squad, according to reports.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) lifted FIFA’s transfer embargo on Chelsea on Saturday following the Premier League club’s appeal against the sanction relating to the signing of overseas youth players.

Graeme Souness reckons Chelsea’s money would best be spent on improving their midfield, while Lampard himself says he is targeting a replacement for Eden Hazard.

And now The Guardian claims that Lampard has been given a £150m budget after their transfer ban was halved.

The report gives five names that Chelsea are currently ‘monitoring’: ‘Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Red Bull Leipzig’s Timo Werner, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Lyon’s Moussa Dembélé and CSKA Moscow’s Fyodor Chalov’.

Despite that, Lampard seemed relaxed about the possible outcome of the upcoming transfer window for Chelsea, he said: “I’m calm about this window. We don’t see so much great business in January.

“If it’s there to be done it’s right for the club and that’s a conversation for me and upstairs. I don’t think we’ll go crazy just because the ban has been lifted.”
