Report reveals reason Man Utd pulled plug on €70m deal

A report has revealed the main reason that Manchester United did not seal a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes netted 28 goals and added 14 assists in an impressive 2018-19 campaign, and he was heavily linked with €70m moves to both Manchester United and Tottenham.
However, with the Premier League transfer window now shut and Fernandes still at Sporting, the door has been left open for other clubs to make their move.
Reports on Monday claimed that Fernandes’ agent Jorge Mendes was looking to seal a move to AC Milan before the transfer deadline slams shut around the rest of Europe.
The Portugal international could have reportedly ended up a United this season but The Times have revealed that his passing stats put the Premier League giants off.
The Times claims:
‘It can be revealed that United pulled the plug on their pursuit of Bruno Fernandes, the Sporting Lisbon midfielder, because of his poor passing statistics. Fernandes, 24, had a pass completion rate of 75 per cent last season.’
His goal involvement stats aren’t half bad, though…
