Marca claims a fee of up to £25million has been agreed, with Real and De Gea having until midnight tonight before the Spanish transfer window closes.
The Spanish paper also claims that talks are ongoing over Keylor Navas, with Real keen to sell the keeper to United, but the Costa Rican is understood to be unconvinced over the prospect of a move to England.
Sky Sports are reporting that while no deal has yet been agreed, talks are taking place between Real and United to resolve the situation.
Louis van Gaal has refused to play De Gea this season while speculation has persisted over his future. United have been insisting on a fair price for one of the world’s best goalkeepers, but Real have been happy to wait, with the 24-year-old only one year away from becoming a free agent.
Reports have suggested that United have become more willing to negotiate over recent days, and with De Gea already in Spain to link up with the international squad, a deal is likely to be completed before the deadline tonight.
