Robson ‘not bothered’ if Man United finish eighth

Bryan Robson says that he is “not bothered” if Manchester United finish eighth in the Premier League this season – as long as they win the Europa League.
United currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, but face a battle to qualify for the Champions League through finishing in the top four.
They are four points behind Manchester City – albeit with a game in hand on their bitter rivals – but are struggling to find consistent victories on the domestic front.
Jose Mourinho will lead his side into Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Anderlecht knowing that lifting the trophy in May could represent their most likely route into the Champions League next season, and former captain Robson believes it must be prioritised.
“We must be really solid but on the front foot,” Robson told MUTV.
“It’s a major competition for us.
“United are all about winning trophies and it’s a real hard task to finish in the top four because we’ve had a lot more games.
“If we win it, it’ll have been a very successful season.
“I’m not bothered even if we finish eighth, if we can win this competition.”
