Danny Rose’s hopes of moving on loan to Paris Saint-Germain look to have been dashed, with the French champions having identfied a new target.
A loan switch from London to Paris had been rumoured for Rose after he turned down a temporary move to Schalke.
However, it now appears likely that Rose will stay at Tottenham to provide competition for first choice Ben Davies, with reports suggesting that former Chelsea man Filipe Luis – now of Atletico Madrid – is PSG’s preferred left-back loanee.
28-year-old Rose has played just 10 Premier League games for Spurs since January 2017, having spent 9 months out with an ACL injury and then seemingly fallen out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino. In June Rose revealed he had been struggling with depression, the triggering of which he attributes to a difficult rehabilitation from injury.
