The Slovenia defender was sent off at Hamilton last time out but Darren Barr and Jackson Irvine could be handed their debuts after arriving on transfer deadline day, along with the returning Michael Gardyne.
Tim Dreesen (back), Steven Saunders (ankle) and full-back Jim Fenlon all missed the 4-0 defeat at Hamilton through injury but the latter could make Saturday’s matchday squad.
County are still without a point to their name after five games, a run of form which precipitated the departure of Derek Adams.
Motherwell’s Stevie Hammell, Iain Vigurs and Simon Ramsden could all be back in contention for the trip to Victoria Park.
Assistant manager Eric Black said: “It was good having the break as it gave our injured players another couple of weeks.
“Simon had 10 minutes against St Johnstone which will do him good and while Stevie and Iain won’t definitely be back this week they are getting close.
“One thing is for sure we will be much stronger as a squad in the coming weeks than we were before the international break to start putting in the performances to get as back to where we should be.”
Stuart Carswell (virus) and Craig Moore (ligaments) will not be involved this weekend.
