Five funniest ways for Liverpool to blow the title

He is leading the race to win the Premier League’s Player of the Year award. He has grabbed 28 goals and ten assists across all competitions.

The player’s future at Liverpool is in doubt though as his current contract is due to expire in 2023.

The two parties have been in discussions over a new deal. But it is believed that talks have stalled as Salah is demanding a significant pay rise.

Salah will not be short of suitors if he chooses to leave Liverpool, with Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid being named as potential landing spots.

According to Sport (via Sport Witness), the 29-year-old has ‘already given signals’ that he would be open to a move to Barca, with the Spanish club ‘studying the viability’ of a move.

The report states that Salah has ‘emerged as a market option’ for the Catalan club. Furthermore, the forward spoke to the Blaugrana two years ago but a deal was ‘financially impossible at the time’.

However, Salah’s contract situation has changed things, according to the Spanish newspaper.

The Egypt international’s ‘idea’ is to leave Liverpool in the summer or when his contract expires next year, as he believes the Reds’ ‘winning cycle’ is coming to an end.

Paris Saint-Germain are another side who could move for Salah, with Kylian Mbappe likely to leave for Real Madrid. The Parisiens can offer the Liverpool man a ‘much more powerful offer financially’.

Meanwhile, Ian Wright has admitted that he is “frightened” ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League game against Liverpool.

The Gunners host Liverpool at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Wright is “frightened” about Wednesday’s game given that Liverpool’s players will be “hyped” after Manchester City dropped points against Crystal Palace.

“If I’m a Liverpool player after watching that game, that would have been brilliant to watch. Because now that game’s finished, I would be ready to go,” said Wright.

“If I’m a Liverpool player now I’m so hyped for the Arsenal game, which has made me frightened.

“I have to be frightened, I’m worried!”
