Salah names three players he loved in Champions League

Mo Salah has named three players he loved to watch in the Champions League as he also declares his love for all things Liverpool.

Salah would have been just 12 when the Reds won the Champions League in 2005 but he does not name-check Steven Gerrard in a new interview.

“My earliest football memory was watching the Champions League matches,” he tells FourFourTwo. “I always loved watching Zidane, Totti and the Brazilian Ronaldo. It’s an amazing feeling when you hear that music now before kick-off.”

The Egyptian – one of the best players in the Premier League this season – arrived from Roma in the summer for a bargain £37m and says: “I have loved the club since I was young and knew this was a team I wanted to play for.

“I knew the history this club has and, as soon as I got the chance, I had to make it happen.

“I’m happy scoring goals for the club I supported as a kid – that’s all that matters.”
