Same issue could end Tottenham’s hopes of signing two players

Tottenham are considering a bid for both Norwich City’s Max Aarons and West Brom’s Nathan Ferguson, according to reports.

There has been speculation that Spurs will invest in their playing squad over the January transfer window with their poor league position and injury to Harry Kane key factors in their decision.

Reports have repeatedly claimed that Krzysztof Piatek could be arriving from AC Milan to plug the gap left by Kane’s injury, while Sky Sports report that Gedson Fernandes will arrive on an 18-month loan deal.

Aarons was linked with a move to Tottenham back in the summer with Daily Mail saying the £15m-rated full-back was ‘being eyed as a replacement’ for Kieran Trippier, who left for Atletico Madrid.

And now Football.London claims Tottenham have ‘weighed up’ making offers for both Aarons and Ferguson.

Aarons has played 20 of Norwich’s 22 Premier League matches as they have struggled this season, while Ferguson has made 20 starts in the Championship for table-topping West Brom in his breakout campaign.

However, the report adds that their respective battles in the league could mean Tottenham will have to wait until at least the summer if they want either of the ‘important’ pair.
