Scott McTominay says “really nice guys” Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes have settled in well since their moves to Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Ighalo signed on deadline day from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua, while Fernandes ended the long-term speculation by sealing a move to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon for £67.8m.

And the Scotland international says his “first impressions are very good” of Man Utd‘s January arrivals.

“They’re really, really nice guys,” McTominay spoke at an event for the Heads Up mental health initiative.

“First and foremost they are good people and that’s what we need at this football club. We need good friends, who you can go out to dinner with.

“What they bring onto the football pitch – we’ve seen that. Hopefully they can bring a lot for us. First impressions are very good.”

On his injury, McTominay added: “I’m feeling good. I’m doing my best to be back on the pitch as soon as I possibly can. The gym work is tough, the running outside is tough. You just have to do your best.”
