Former Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham says that Harry Kane has more to his game than Alan Shearer.
Shearer is the all-time top Premier League goalscorer with 260 goals, while Kane currently has 68. If Kane is to catch Shearer, he will have to score 20 Premier League goals a season between now and the age of 32.
However, Sheringham believes that Kane’s all-round game is better than Shearer’s. That’s definitely not because he is still bitter towards Shearer.
“He’s got everything I had and more. And he’s got everything Shearer had and more,” Sheringham said.
“Harry might not be the phenomenal scorer yet that Shearer was.
“But in his all-round game, he has more awareness. A touch more of a team player.
“Shearer would never pass to me like I passed to him or Harry passes to Dele Alli.
“Shearer’s Premier League record could be in danger.”
Maybe, but it would be a superhuman effort to pull it off.
