Manchester United could announce £100m worth of signings in the coming days after agreeing personal terms with Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.
With Harry Maguire expected to join by Monday, United have wasted no time in negotiating a deal for Mandzukic.
United and Juventus have been locked in talks over the past few weeks with regards to forwards Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku, but the breakthrough has been made in Mandzukic talks.
The Daily Mail say United ‘are on the brink of completing’ the transfer, having agreed a three-year contract worth £6.2m per season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considers 33-year-old Mandzukic to be ‘the ideal replacement’ for Lukaku, who could still move to Turin this month.
Juventus will either reinvest the £15m they would receive from selling the Croatian, or try and include his value in a Lukaku deal to bring his price down. That decision depends on whether United can agree terms with Dybala.
But Manduzkic’s arrival at Old Trafford ‘is virtually done’ and ‘should be finalised over the coming days’, whether or not it is as part of deals including Dybala or Lukaku.
