Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has suggested that Jack Grealish would make a massive impact for the Gunners.

Grealish has been the leading player for Aston Villa over the last few seasons. He spearheaded their return to the Premier League in 2018/19, as he was involved in 13 goals from his 34 Championship outings.

The Villans’ return season in the top flight was a struggle. It looked for much of the season like they would be relegated straight back down to the Championship.

But they finished the season strongly to avoid the drop, and a lot of that was down to the performances of Grealish.

He scored eight and got six assists as Villa narrowly avoided relegation. His form has moved into a new level this season, though.

Villa have started the season well as they sit sixth in the Premier League. Grealish has four goals and five assists from his seven league outings so far.

In this time, Grealish has also inserted himself into Gareth Southgate’s England squad. After earning his first cap in September, he has appeared three times for The Three Lions.

Speaking on The Invisible Wall Podcast, Gilberto Silva said Grealish would add a lot to the Gunners if he signed for them.

“Grealish, amazing. It seems like he could be a player that Arsenal missed.

“With his ability, he was one of the guys in the middle who can play beautiful football. He controls the ball, assists and can score goals.

“He is slightly different from Dennis Bergkamp, but he could be somebody for the future at Arsenal.”
