Moussa Sissoko says Tottenham are still hoping to pip Manchester United to the Premier League runners-up spot.
The Spurs winger came off the bench during Monday night’s 2-0 victory over Watford at Wembley which takes them to within a point of third-placed Liverpool with Mauriciop Pochettino’s side having a game in hand over the Reds.
But Sissoko believes Spurs should target United, who are currently six points ahead, with both sides having three games left to play.
“We can hope for more,” he told SFR Sport after beating the Hornets.
“There are three matches left. We’ll try to take the points and hope others slip up. Right now, second place is still possible.
“We’ll see. We’ll take it game by game. Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League.
“We might have won the FA Cup, but we lost the semi-final. We were all very disappointed. But that’s football, you learn from your mistakes. We have three finals left, three finals to win.
“We knew Chelsea’s result, they had come back to within two points, so we had to win. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but we were clinical at the right moments. We continue our progress towards qualifying for the Champions League.”
