“Miguel will be fine. He did some partial training earlier in the week and he’s now back in full training with a view to playing on Saturday,” said Neilson.
“He’s missed the last couple of games, but I always had it in the back of my mind to try and get him back in for the Rangers game.”
Left-back Adam Eckersley will not be involved though after he underwent surgery on a knee problem on Thursday.
Goalkeeper Neil Alexander, midfielder Prince Buaben and winger Billy King all miss out through injury.
Rangers defender Marius Zaliukas has been passed fit for the trip to Tynecastle as Stuart McCall’s side look for the victory that could see them leapfrog Hibernian to finish second in the table.
The Lithuanian international, who played at Hearts for six years from 2007, limped off with an ankle injury at half time of their 2-2 home draw with Falkirk last weekend but should be available.
Midfielder Ian Black is back in contention after serving a suspension while defensive duo Richard Foster (hernia) and Steven Smith (back) are back in training but not yet match-fit.
