Ten Hag target ‘one step away from Man Utd’ after £30m ‘offer’ sees ‘big name’ say ‘goodbye’ to club
Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is now ‘one step away’ from joining Premier League giants Man Utd, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag is keen to sign a new defensive midfielder; presumably to cover for Casemiro when he is suspended.
Amrabat has been linked with a move to the Premier League for around two years now, with Tottenham the first club to show an interest.
Since then, the Fiorentina star has caught the attention of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and Barcelona.
He enjoyed a wonderful 2022 World Cup campaign with Morocco, helping his side become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the showpiece tournament.
This has obviously increased his value, though it has been reported by Sport Italia that he will only cost €35million (£30million) this summer.
The Italian outlet say Amrabat is only ‘one step away’ from signing for Man Utd after Ten Hag’s side ‘presented an offer of 35 million euros’.
Amrabat is now ‘ready to leave Florence for Manchester’, the poor sod. The report says the 26-year-old is ‘another big name ready to say goodbye to Serie A’ in the summer transfer window.

Man Utd have already completed the signings of Andre Onana and Mason Mount and are also working on a deal to bring in Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Paris Saint-Germain and Man Utd have both made bids to sign Hojlund, though the former’s is a smaller package and it has been claimed they ‘will walk away’ if it is rejected.
This means the Red Devils are hoping to complete three signings from Serie A this summer following Onana’s move from Champions League finalists Inter.
Onana made his Man Utd debut on Wednesday night, playing the full 90 minutes of his new side’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Real Madrid.
“I think good, solid,” Ten Hag said of Onana’s display. “Two very good saves.
“He was there in the moment the team needed him, so he did his job. I think he integrated well in our team.
“This is the first game and detail, we have a lot of work to do between him and the defending part (of the team).
“You could see with the second goal where we are not close at the back post. It can’t be that and goals will come there.
“There are things that are rules we have to follow, and they’ll come quick, that we integrate that into our way of play.”
