Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Man United could be without two key forwards for upcoming games against RB Leipzig and Man City.

Man United faced West Ham at Saturday at the London Stadium. The Red Devils were 1-0 down at the break thanks to a tap in from Tomas Soucek.

Edinson Cavani was brought off at the break in place of Marcus Rashford. Anthony Martial was later subbed off just past the hour mark for Juan Mata.

Early winner & loser: Man Utd – an unfathomable dichotomy

It was hoped that Cavani was just brought off for tactical reasons, but it now appears that he was carrying a knock.

Martial meanwhile was seen limping shortly before he was brought with half an hour remaining at the London Stadium.

These changes did not hamper United, though. Shortly after Martial was subbed off, the away side got two quickfire goals from Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood to take the lead.

Ten minutes later, Rashford netted after being fed in by Mata to secure the points for United. This win moved the Red Devils up to fourth in the Premier League ahead of the weekend’s other fixtures.

Next up is RB Leipzig in a vital Champions League group game on Tuesday. This is before they host Man City at Old Trafford next Saturday.

Speaking to MUTV after Saturday’s game, as cited by The Mirror, Solksjaer confirmed that Martial and Cavani are doubts for these upcoming games:

“We lost Anthony and Edinson. Hopefully, they aren’t too bad but they couldn’t carry on today.

“There’s a game coming up on Tuesday but that’s probably going to be the season this year.

“There’s going to be some games that we have to do without players and I’m glad we’ve got the subs that we have.

“They’re not bad ones (injuries) hopefully. We’ll do scans and hopefully, they’ll be available soon.”
