Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits his side were “missing some quality” as they lost 1-0 to Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium.

Josh King’s goal on the stroke of half-time secured condemned Solskjaer’s side to their fourth defeat of the season.

After a good start, United became more and more laboured as the game went on and were unable to create enough clearcut chances.

Solskjaer told BT Sport: “We are disappointed but when you come to places like this you have to take control of the game.

“We did not and we could not get the goal. We were missing some quality at times.

“Maybe I should have started some others. I think we started the game well though so maybe that was not the case.

“We have to win games like this. We are disappointed. We have to look forward now though.”

The United boss was disappointed with the way they conceded – allowing King to bring the ball down, turn and shoot in the area – but said the Norwegian striker deserves credit.

“The first goal was always going to be important. Every time you concede a goal it is bad but we are disappointed with this. We had time to tackle on a couple of occasions. You have to say it was a bit of magic that won the game.”
