Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has “no transfer updates” ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Wolves on Wednesday.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a number of players in the January transfer window with Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes reportedly close to a move.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claimed on Tuesday that Man Utd had agreed a €70m deal for Fernandes with four players offered as possible loan options to sweeten the deal.

And at his pre-match press conference (via BBC Sport) Solskjaer hinted that a “few signings” could make a big difference to his United team.

He was then specifically asked whether he had any updates on Fernandes joining from Sporting, Solskjaer replied: “I’ve got no transfer updates, so no. If we get something that we can tell you about we will but I’ve got no news now.”

On the challenge of an FA Cup replay against Wolves, Solskjaer continued: “We’ve played them so many times so we’re gonna be facing a team that know more or less everything about us, we’ve got them in a couple of weeks in the league.

“We played a decent first half last week, second half was disappointing, but at home we wanna make sure we go through. This tournament is one we dream about winning when we are young, loved my time in finals and winning trophies so we wanna go through.”
