Former Liverpool defender Graeme Souness thinks Manchester United will have made a “great buy” once Harry Maguire signs from Leicester City.
United will pay £85million for Maguire, with the deal subject to a medical and personal terms, though with the Leicester defender keen to make the step up the latter should prove no obstacle.
And Souness reckons that it will be a good bit of business for the Red Devils despite the hefty price tag.
“There’s a premium paid normally for Manchester United but this time I think there’s a premium on the premium.
“But Harry Maguire is a top player and, at 26, has eight years left at the top in him providing he doesn’t get any injuries.
“He has outstanding quality. He can defend, he’s great on the ball and has great presence. He gets goals, too.
“I think it’s a great buy.”
