£21m Spurs summer signing to help Valencia ‘jump in quality’
La Liga outfit Valencia want to sign Spurs winger Bryan Gil on loan in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Gil arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window as Spurs paid £21m as part of a swap deal for Erik Lamela, who joined Sevilla.
The Spaniard hasn’t started a Premier League match yet with Gil already playing under both Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte so far this campaign.

The 20-year-old has played 18 times in all competitions with his seven starts coming in the Europa Conference League, FA Cup and League Cup.
There have been rumours that he could be looking to leave Tottenham this month to get some game time and now it appears that Valencia have some interest.
Superdeporte (via Sport Witness) claims that Gil will help Valencia ‘jump in quality’ until the end of the season as they line up a loan move for the winger.
Gil is ‘wanted’ by their manager Jose Bordalas with Spanish newspaper AS insisting that the signing is at the ‘express request’ of the former Getafe boss.
Valencia will need to pay a €1.5m loan fee to land Gil and the Spanish club still have their ‘handbrake’ on as they decide whether to stump up Spurs’ demands.
Meanwhile, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton reckons Daniel Levy could be breaking a promise to Conte if he fails to get any transfers over the line in January.
Hutton told Football Insider: “I thought that there would be assurances, when he did sign, that there would be money to spend.
“If you look at his track record, he’s done it at every club. He’s gone in, he’s brought in the targets he’s wanted and spent a lot of money.
“That being said, I presume Daniel Levy came to some sort of deal with him that he could do that. He’s evaluated the squad in the time that he’s had.
“He has probably picked out who he wants, who he doesn’t want the areas he needs to strengthen. Then he’s probably gone to Daniel Levy with this and still not got anybody in.
“This is Nuno’s squad, there have been no changes. Yes, he’s done really well, one loss in 10 in the league, so he is getting a tune out of them. They’re running further than they ever have, so they’re doing well.
“But he’ll want to put his own stamp on this team. We’re going in with not long left in the January window and he’s still not got a player in.
“I think he’ll be frustrated because he wanted to change certain areas of the pitch. He’s not been able to, which suggests broken promises.
“There’s still that massive gap between the likes of Tottenham and the top three. He’ll be looking to try and get them closer.
“But if he can’t bring in his own players for his vision, he can’t change it.”
