Spurs midfielder: Arsenal’s defence ‘all over the place’

Arsenal’s defence “was all over the place” against Newcastle and clubs know they can beat them.

The Gunners lost their 11th Premier League game of the season on Sunday with a 2-1 reverse against Newcastle.

The north London side are now locked in a possible battle for Burnley to finish sixth and guarantee European football next season, with the Clarets just two points behind in seventh.

Winks, whose Spurs side are 13 points ahead of Arsenal in fourth, and on course to qualify for the Champions League once again, is savouring the superiority.

“The defence was all over the place from Arsenal,” Winks told beIN SPORTS.

“It’s happened quite a few times this season.

“When they switch it on they’re a very good side and you’ve got to respect them in that sense. But teams are playing against Arsenal knowing that they can get a good result.

“Newcastle were positive, on the front foot and got their win.”
