Tottenham are preparing to offer Mauricio Pochettino an improved contract in an attempt to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Pochettino signed a five-year contract with the north London club when he joined in summer 2014.
The manager penned an extension in 2016, tying him to the club until 2021, but he has not been offered an improvement on that deal since.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Tottenham will look to rectify that providing the manager with ‘a lucrative new contract as reward for his impressive work’.
The 2-2 Champions League draw with Juventus in midweek has only increased his stock further, and Real Madrid and PSG are both admirers of the Argentinean.
Tottenham believe only Real ‘would stand a chance of convincing him to leave this summer’, and have taken steps to prevent any possibility of that happening.
They ‘are understood to be ready to hand Pochettino a pay rise’, and get him to agree a deal which will see him lead the club into their new stadium.
