Stevenage will be without John Mousinho when they host Preston.
Mousinho, who scored Boro’s third goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Tranmere, is on loan at Broadhall Way from the Lilywhites and therefore cannot play against his parent club.
Fellow midfielder Michael Doughty is a doubt with a hamstring injury and winger Filipe Morais could miss out again with a thigh problem.
Boro, who were bottom of the table 10 days ago, have won three and drawn one of their last four matches to climb to within a point of safety.
John Welsh and Bailey Wright will come back into Preston’s squad for the clash with former manager Graham Westley’s Stevenage.
Captain Welsh travelled to Oldham on Saturday with the squad but was left out altogether following his recent knee problem. Welsh trained on Thursday and Friday, though, and could slot into the midfield following a four-game absence.
Central defender Wright also missed out after picking up a knock at the end of last week yet will be at Simon Grayson’s disposal this time around.
That will give Grayson a full compliment of options, although utility-man Jack King has a constant foot problem which may struggle to take the strain of two games in the space of four days.
