Stop laughing: Xhaka analyses Arsenal’s 4-0 Liverpool loss

Granit Xhaka says that Arsenal could not keep up with Liverpool during their 4-0 defeat.

Xhaka believes that Arsenal were unlucky against Stoke, but offered no excuses for the performance against Liverpool. He concedes that Arsenal didn’t show up, and made far too many mistakes.

Still, you can’t doubt his logic. Xhaka believes that he would rather lose 4-0 once than 1-0 four times. Well yes, obviously.

“Against Stoke we were unhappy we lost, although we were clearly the better team,” Xhaka told Swiss newspaper Blick.

“It is not the start we wanted. But there are still 35 laps ahead of us.

“And yes, the Liverpool game we have to analyse critically, because it was a bitter defeat.

“Against Liverpool, we didn’t show up on the pitch.

“We did a lot of wrong and could not keep up with Liverpool.

“There are days like that, I’d prefer they didn’t happen. But if we do lose, I’d rather lose 4-0 once that suffer four 1-0 defeats.”
