Suarez aims dig at Man United while tapping up Pogba

Luis Suarez says Paul Pogba “would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment” at Manchester United.

Pogba joined Man United in summer 2016, winning the Europa League and League Cup in his first season.

But his second went slightly less smoothly, ending in no silverware, with his future in considerable doubt.

Barcelona were heavily interested in signing the Frenchman this past summer, but could not push a deal through before the deadline.

Reports suggest that Pogba himself is ready to ‘do a Coutinho’ and force his way to Spain.

Suarez has simply added fuel to the fire, as the Barca PR machine whirs into action.

“Pogba’s an elite player who’s won everything,” Suarez told RAC1.

“He has a lot of quality and he’s one of the references at United.

“I think he would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment. He’s not a player that belongs to Barca, but he would always be welcome.”
