Super Seagulls pick off Addicks

Inigo Calderon opened the scoring in the first half and second-half strikes from Glenn Murray, Kazenga LuaLua and Matt Sparrow consigned the Addicks to a heavy defeat.
Brighton took the lead in the 26th minute after Charlton failed to clear from a corner, allowing Bennett to find Gary Dicker on the left of the area and his low cross was smashed home at the back post by Calderon.
The visitors added a second after 62 minutes when Murray capitalised on Johnnie Jackson’s poor attempted backpass before firing past Elliot.
Substitute LuaLua’s stunning 20-yard shot from a quickly taken short free-kick made it 3-0 nine minutes from time.
And LuaLua turned provider in stoppage time when his cross was headed home by Sparrow as the leaders cemented their place at the top of the table.
