Raoul Bellanova rejected approaches from Manchester City and Tottenham to join Bordeaux.
Bellanova progressed through the Milan youth ranks but decided to leave in search of first-team football this summer.
The 19-year-old signed for Bordeaux in January, returning to Italy for a six-month loan.
With that deal coming to a close, the right-back is now looking towards a prosperous future, having turned down Premier League giants City and Spurs.
“Not renewing with Milan was my choice because the club offered me the renewal of the contract, but I wanted to go and have an experience among the adults to show off and maybe come back one day through the front door,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“I was close to Manchester City, but I was also asked by Tottenham, Juventus, Sampdoria, Bologna and many other teams.
“I want to get in and settle well first of all because I’m sure the first few months will be difficult. The main goal is to play as often as possible, trying to do well and going forward to make more and more minutes possible.”
