Ten Hag ready to axe several Man Utd stars with four players named as ‘prime candidates’ to be sold
Erik ten Hag is ready to cash in on four Manchester United stars as the club looks is looking to put any extra funds towards a striker.
The Red Devils have already had some high-profile departures this summer. The likes of David de Gea, Alex Telles and Phil Jones are among the players let go so far.
Ten Hag’s next priority is to land a new striker with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund being their primary target. However, according to the latest reports, Man Utd aren’t prepared to spend more than £60m for the striker.
As Man Utd continue to negotiate a price tag with Atalanta, Ten Hag is keen to cash in on several stars to raise the transfer funds available to him.
According to Football Insider, Ten Hag is now ready to accept offers for up to four first team players as he eyes a summer rebuild.
The report names Scott McTominay, Fred, Eric Bailly and Dean Henderson as the ‘prime candidates’ to be shipped off in the following weeks.
West Ham are particularly interested in taking McTominay as they search for a Declan Rice replacement. Given the Scottish midfielder only started 10 league matches last season, a move could be best for all parties this summer.
The 26-year-old would get the chance to be a regular starter at West Ham and he would be playing European football next season too.
Following the arrival of Andre Onana, an exit for Henderson now seems likely. Nottingham Forest are pushing for a deal after the goalkeeper spent last season on loan at the City Ground.
According to Rudy Galetti, talks between the two clubs are advancing. “Following the signing of Onana, the talks between Nottingham Forest and Man Utd for Dean Henderson are progressing with confidence,” the journalist explained on Twitter.
“Personal terms already agreed, it’s up to clubs. Man Utd targeted Zion Suzuki as the new possible 2nd GK.”
Bailly is in negotiations with two Saudi clubs over a deal and Fred has been a long-term target for Premier League side Fulham.
Ten Hag will be hoping to receive some funds from selling these players which he will then be able to add to his summer transfer fund.
