News is moving quickly on the Aston Villa manager’s job, but the latest reports suggest Thierry Henry will indeed take over, with John Terry acting as his assistant.
Henry has been working as assistant manager to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, and helped the side reach the semi-finals of the World Cup this summer.
Earlier reports suggested Brendan Rodgers was also in the running for the Villa Park job, but that now looks to be off the table. With any luck, he’ll become a pundit for Sky and be on hand to grab Jamie Carragher’s leg whenever Henry loses his job. We like that kind of neatness and symmetry, it makes us happy.
