The three reasons Man Utd rejected chance to sign Vidal…

Manchester United reportedly rejected the chance to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich for three reasons.

Vidal is heading to Barcelona after it was announced the La Liga club had reached an agreement with Bayern to end the Chilean’s three-season stay at the Allianz Arena.

United have been linked with Vidal since his days at Juventus and the Red Devils were reportedly offered Vidal this summer.

But, according the The Sun, the reasons United declined the opportunity are threefold.

Firstly, United are said to be concerned over the Vidal’s fitness. The midfielder has undergone a couple of knee surgeries and the Red Devils had doubts whether he would be able to sustain his all-action style of play.

Which is connected to the second reason: his age. Vidal is 31 and United do not see much longevity in the midfielder.

Lastly, with the first two factors in mind, the deal was not financially tempting enough to provoke United into making an offer. Bayern were looking for £27million for Vidal which United feel is too much.

But Barcelona are more willing to cough up, with the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder set to move to Spain on a three-year deal.
