But United are unwilling to pay such inflated wages folllowing the issues Alexis Sanchez’s salary has created.
Both Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba are understood to resent Sanchez’s significantly higher wages and a United source said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to maintain a harmonious environment and believes ‘high wages are not good for the dressing room’.
Sancho is currently on £75,000-a-week but his current wage expectations are creating a very ‘real situation’.
Senior United sources are also said to believe Borussia Dortmund’s August 10 deadline to be ‘meaningless’ and ‘artificial’ seeing as the transfer window remains open until October 5.
The two clubs are also still some way apart in terms of asking price, with Dortmund holding out for £108million and United thought to be unwilling to pay more than around £60million up front, with more to be paid in add-ons.
This deal is far from over…
