Youri Tielemans is reportedly expected to stay at Leicester City despite interest from Newcastle United and Arsenal.

The Gunners have agreed personal terms with the Belgian midfielder but have not submitted a formal bid to Leicester.

He is out of contract in less than 12 months and will be set for a huge payday should he not leave on deadline day, or in January.

Arsenal are hoping to sign a new midfielder before the transfer window closes on Thursday with Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny out injured.

They are reportedly weighing up a bid for Aston Villa defensive midfielder Douglas Luiz, who will cost around £25million.

Tielemans would also cost around that amount, but reports on Thursday suggest he will not move.

This is according to The Sun, who says the most likely outcome for the 25-year-old is that he will remain at the King Power.

Arsenal’s interest in Luiz means this update is not too surprising.

Clubs have essentially been playing a waiting game with Tielemans.

You do get the impression that the floodgates would open if a club bit the bullet and made an official offer. But that has surprisingly not happened in the summer transfer window.

Leicester have not been busy this summer but the sale of Wesley Fofana means they have some money to spend on deadline day.

They are reportedly trying to sign Atalanta winger Jeremie Boga and Reims defender Wout Faes for around £15m.

Sticking with Arsenal; it looks like Hector Bellerin will eventually leave the club.

The player’s representatives have been hoping the Gunners will terminate his contract and with the deadline fast approaching, the Premier League club may have to succumb to their demands.

He spent last season on loan with Real Betis, who were hoping to sign the Spaniard on a permanent basis, though they do not appear to be in the race anymore.

Barcelona are hoping to sign a right-back with Sergino Dest moving to AC Milan.

They have been linked with Thomas Meunier and Bellerin, and may sign both players.

Gianluca Di Marzio says Bellerin’s move to Barca is ‘close’.

He will likely join on a free transfer, though the Italian journalist does not say this.

Bellerin came through the Barca youth academy before joining Arsenal in 2011 at the age of 16.
