Torino boss invites ‘flood of money’ for Man United target

Sinisa Mihajlovic has discussed the future of Manchester United target Andrea Belotti.

Belotti has been identified as a potential striker signing for United, who have prioritised the purchase of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Some reports claim that the club are intent on buying two strikers this summer however, meaning they could still pursue Torini’s Belotti.

The Italian has an £87m release clause in his contract, which can be activated by foreign clubs only, and so Torino are aware a “flood of money” could come in for the player.

Despite that, Torino boss Mihajlovic would prefer to keep the player, who might even reject the move to Old Trafford if they meet his release clause.

“Will he stay? I hope so and so does [President Urbano] Cairo who isn’t thinking of selling him,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Then there’s the €100m release clause. If someone pays it then a flood of money will arrive, but then we’d have to change the way we play.

“It’s not just about replacing Belotti, it’s worse than that. It’s hard to find someone else who pulls their teammates forward and scores 26 goals.

“What I always say to him – and what I told [Christian] Vieri via Gazzetta – is don’t lose your head; sacrifice, keep improving, don’t lose than hunger that made you the player you’ve been recently.”
