Tottenham transfer targets Gift Orban and Randal Kolo Muani
Gift Orban and Randal Kolo Muani are reported targets for Tottenham.

Tottenham will “further accelerate” their efforts to sign Gift Orban from Gent “this week”, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Spurs are still reeling from the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for £86m last week as Ange Postecoglou looks to find a way of replacing his 30 Premier League goals from last season.

The north London club have made Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski’s loans into permanent deals this summer, while James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Véliz, Ashley Phillips and Manor Solomon have also joined.

And reports have claimed that the money from the Kane deal has already been invested in the squad with Tottenham assuming the England skipper would leave the club this summer.

Signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney – who is currently serving a ban from English football – in January when his suspension comes to and end is one mooted possibility.

But there are also reports Postecoglou wants reinforcements now to compensate for the loss of Kane with Genk’s Orban one player who keeps getting mentioned.

The Nigerian scored 16 goals in 22 appearances for Norwegian side Stabaek before earning a move to Gent in January and he has now bagged 25 goals in 25 appearances for the Belgium outfit since joining.

And now Belgian journalist Tavolieri has claimed that Tottenham are holding “ongoing discussions” over their interest in Orban as they look to ramp up their interest this week.

Tavolieri wrote on Twitter: “La Gantoise will not sell Hugo Cuypers AND Gift Orban during the same window of #mercato . In view of the ongoing discussions with #Tottenham – which will further accelerate this week – the most likely departure is that of the Nigerian striker.”

Tottenham have also been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani this summer and now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the German side have been “approached by mystery club”.

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “I’m told things are happening with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani. PSG remain the favourites, they have the green light because the player would be open to the move, but let’s see first what happens with Hugo Ekitike.

“I’m told that one more club approached Eintracht Frankfurt over Kolo Muani this week. I will let you know more when I can, but at the moment there is no bid. Still, keep an eye on Kolo Muani in the final weeks of the transfer window.”
