Tottenham flop has ‘no regrets’ over joining the club

Clinton N’Jie has “no regrets” over joining Tottenham in 2015.

N’Jie made the move from Lyon to Tottenham in the summer of 2015, but failed to establish himself in north London.

He made 14 appearances without scoring a goal in his only season at the club, before joining Marseille on loan in 2016.

The move was made permanent a season later and he is now a crucial part of Rudi Garcia’s fourth-placed side.

Marseille lost 2-0 to his former club upon his return to the Olympique Lyonnais at the weekend, and N’Jie insists he made the right choice in leaving.

“I don’t regret it. It’s a choice I needed to make,” he told Lyon’s official website.

“The club was OK with it. Everyone thought it was a good solution.

“I acquired a lot of experience during that adventure at Tottenham. It really helped me afterwards, and it still does. Therefore, I have no regrets.”
