Tottenham forward hints at summer exit – ‘I don’t get to play much’
Tottenham Hotspur attacker Steven Bergwijn has hinted that he would be open to leaving the club during the summer transfer window.
Following an impressive spell in the Netherlands with PSV, Spurs signed Bergwijn in 2020 for around £26m.

The winger has struggled to establish himself for Spurs as he has been a bit-part player over the past couple of seasons.
The 24-year-old has only started four times in the Premier League this term.
Erik ten Hag’s Ajax were interested in Bergwijn during the winter transfer window. The Dutch outfit could not agree a fee with Spurs, though.
Bergwijn has enjoyed the international break as he does not “play much” for Tottenham:
“I don’t get to play much at the club. I am happy that the national coach has called me up, that’s not obvious (thing to do),” Bergwijn said (quotes via Sport Witness).
“You don’t forget about football. But of course, you feel that you don’t play that much. It was nice to be here again. We have a good and fun group.”
Bergwijn went onto admit that he doesn’t know whether his form for the Netherlands would improve his situation at Tottenham:
“I wouldn’t know, we’ll see. Everyone wants to play of course. I have to keep my head up and work hard in training. Then we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
Elsewhere, Darren Bent thinks Dele Alli may benefit from a season down in the Championship:
“I thought going to Everton with fresh surroundings would kind of kick him back into life. Completely different circumstances and different manager,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“It just hasn’t happened. What might need to happen and there’s no guarantees, and it’s a knock on his pride – but at the end of the day he’s not playing well – is maybe he needs to go down a division to the Championship and completely rip it up.
“If Everton were to go down, then he could absolutely rip it up as you’d expect him to be the best player in that division, get a bit of confidence and then maybe come back up.
“At the moment he can’t seem to get himself going. If they go down, what Premier League club would buy him?”
