Kevin Wimmer admits he is considering his future at Tottenham, and would find it “most beautiful” to stay in the Premier League.
Wimmer joined Spurs in summer 2015, but has played only 29 games in all competitions as he has been largely used as cover for centre-halves Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
The Austrian is eager to leave the club with Southampton circling, but Tottenham are reported to want £20million for a player they signed for £4.3m two years ago.
The 24-year-old is in danger of being trapped in north London, and is planning his escape route.
“It would be most beautiful to stay in the Premier League,” he said.
“24 years is exactly the age at which it is most important to play regularly and not just have to training week after week and have to sit down on the bench at the game.
“In the next few days and weeks, the main focus will certainly be placed on any offers, and we will definitely look around. It’s time to look for something where the chances of regular use are higher.”
