Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has claimed that he and his teammates have found it ‘easier’ to train after Ange Postecoglou’s arrival.

Spurs currently sit in second place in the Premier League table after winning three and drawing one of their four opening fixtures.

The London club have been devastating going forward, scoring at least two goals in every match. Only Brighton have bettered their 11 league goals so far.

Postecoglou has made an immediate impression at the club, helping to lift the mood after last season’s struggles under Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini and eventually Ryan Mason.

The Australian coach said when he arrived at Tottenham that he wanted to excite the fans and he has delivered on that promise, with the exception of a Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Fulham.

Kulusevski has  revealed how Postecoglou has had a positive impact on the Tottenham players, helping to turn their form around after finishing in a disappointing eighth place last term.

The winger also fired a dig at Conte, criticising his methods by emphasising that the players are now told to ‘run forwards not backwards.’

“We had a tough time at the end of last season,” Kulusevski said in an interview while on international duty with Sweden.

“[Postecoglou] has come in with really positive energy and it has gone very quickly. Of course, we are all a little surprised. But he’s really good.

“We are a young team and everyone wants to play this way. I’m not saying that what we did before was completely wrong, but it was something completely different.

“I think it’s easier to come to training every day and know that you should play with the ball, that you should attack and run forward and not backwards. So, it is clear that all of us players have done everything possible to listen as much as possible.”

Kulusevski will hope that Tottenham can continue their excellent start to the season after the international break. The London club will face Sheffield United at home in their next match on September 16.
